Sonia, Somnath congratulates Sania Mirza
Congress President Sonia Gandhi today congratulated Sania Mirza on her spectacular performance in the Hyderabad Open tennis tournament.
Gandhi, who returned from electioneering from Bihar, watched the match and wished the young tennis star all success in her career in future. Sania became the first ever Indian woman to win a WTA tour title when he upset ninth seed Alyona Bondaenko of Ukraine 6-4 5-7 6-3 to lift the USD 140,000 Hyderabad Open today.
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee also congratulated Sania Mirza on her historic title win in the WTA Hyderabad Open tennis tournament.
Chatterjee said that young Sania Mirza’s saga of success in winning this major championship would inspire the youth across the country. He also congratulated the organisers of the tournament.
