Ramp beckons stars

Played under: — Indian Players

The Kolkata police may have played spoilsport to the Mahesh Bhupathi-Sania Mirza road show in the city, but the organisers of the Sunfeast Open WTA meet have devised other, equally ingenious, methods to draw the crowds.

Sponsors Sunfeast, in an endeavour to take the game closer to the audiences, have planned a novel buggy (horse chariot) road show with stars like Anastasia Myskina and Elena Likhovtseva — reminiscent of the old-world charm of the city. The stars will also be seen displaying their ramp skills at an exclusive players’ party to be held on September 20. While Myskina is no stranger to modelling, having appeared in Vogue, the fashion show with international tennis stars walking the ramp will add a touch of glamour to the tournament.

With just 10 days to go for the mega event, the organisers have increased their interaction with the children with their ball boy/ ball girl contest that will give those selected an opportunity to watch their heroes from as close as it gets. This endeavor follows the trophy design contest where school children were asked to design the Sunfeast Open winner’s trophy.
